Don Potter formed his first company, Potter Builders, in 1991. The company quickly became a well-known premier custom home and estate builder in the Charlotte NC area. Potter Construction Services was founded in 2008 to accommodate the increased demand from our commercial clients. Our company has since become recognized as one of the region’s most reputable Commercial General Contractors. Potter Construction is currently licensed in eleven states, North and South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, Arkansas and Florida. This allows us to provide exceptional service to an extended region.

Presconstruction & Design
Potter Construction Services works with our clients from conception through completion of their project. Our preconstruction planning includes cost estimation and reviews, bid management, schedule optimization and logistics planning. In addition, we acquire all necessary permits and licensing. We work closely with the chosen architect throughout design and development to minimize project risk, assure that all materials meet our clients’ standards, and to increase the efficiency of our schedule. Clients benefit from having Potter Construction Services as a single point of contact for all issues and concerns regarding their project.
General Contracting Services
Potter Construction Services is licensed in 11 states and registered to work in many additional other states. This allows us to provide general contracting services throughout the southeast and beyond. Our project management team is experienced working out of state and are knowledgeable on the construction laws and regulations in each state that we are licensed. Our staff of construction experts bring to our company a wealth of knowledge and experience providing services for projects of all sizes and complexity. We specialize in major and minor renovations, ADA renovations, new construction and emergency work orders. Our construction managers and site superintendents are available 24 hours a day/ 365 days a year to ensure that we can provide the quickest response time for our clients.
Construction Management
Potter Construction Services will act as a consultant whose sole responsibility is to safeguard the client’s interests during the design, build, and certification processes. Our team implements a proactive project management approach. We believe that projects are most successful when project managers are actively involved in all stages. A structured approach combined with strong communication between our project managers, superintendents and subcontractors allows us to effectively manage projects over a large service region. Experienced construction managers oversee project scope management, scheduling, optimizing use of architects and construction teams, contracting and procurement, and change/dispute management. During all stages of the project, administrative staff at our home office provides support and assistance for our project managers and field personnel.
